I am looking for a decent photo to post up to do this camp justice. The ones that I took using my phone is just going to give the camp a bad image. Hahaha! *looks at Bryan, our camp photographer* I was actually half-way done with this entry before I decided to delete everything off, because I thought that going through what we do everyday would be as boring as ever. So, I shall just post up the really interesting parts of camps, and somethings that you might not even know!
For the past 4 days and 3 nights, I was stuck in a resort with the other 17 of you. 18 of us occupied 5 rooms - and it was filled with non-stop laughters, massive spamming of door bells, screaming at your top pitch, shampoo-flooded toilets, endless prank calls, loud giant footsteps running across the corridor and rooms in a complete mess! This is what happens when 18 Boys live together for 4 days. Here's somethings that you don't really know:
Toilets: The smell of some toilet was poisonous. I swear I could just step in and faint on the spot. I bet if I were to describe the toilet, you would feel the same way too. I think the cleanest room has to be Gordon's room (That's why everyone wanted to go there right?).
Alarms: This was really one of the most irritating things ever. My roomies and I, had altogether about 16 alarms set, including the television alarm. But in the end, we still refused to wake up. I was already on the verge to throw my phone out of the window. We just continued to reject all of our alarms until Gordon came to spam our doorbell. We didn't realise we overslept, so this was what happened:
Kelvin Lim: "Kane, go and check who it is la!"
Kane: *Stands up, jumps back into bed.* "Ahya, stupid people spamming on our doorbells la! Don't care la, I want to sleep!"
*Doorbell rings again!*
Hong Liang: *Got irritated and went to answer the door!*
Gordon: "You guys want to go for breakfast together?"
Kane: "HUH?! What time is it?"
Gordon: "Going to be 8am already!"
All of us: *Rushed like mad and brushing our teeth at the same time!*
It's so funny la, thinking back about it just makes me feel kinda dumb!
Miss World: Yes, I believed some of us stayed up to watch this right? But you got to agree with me that some of them this year looked like drag! And oh ya, some of you got excited while watching this! Hahaha, I don't get it!
Room Keys: We only had one key per room. So there was once (Okay, actually TWICE!), we were all in the room together. Than we each started going to others room to check out what others were doing - and the last person thought that there was still someone inside. And yes, the key was inside. We were locked outside of our room, barefooted. How comical can it be?
It didn't really feel like a camp to me, it was more like a retreat kind of feeling! Everyone was having great fun and we were all like crazy monkeys everywhere! We all got pampered with the luxurious place and room service that took forever to come (They spend like an hour in each room?). Yes, I think it was one of the best camping sites ever we had.
I guess the most favorite part of the camp was BBQ night and all the free times. I got the opportunity to get to know some of you better, and irritate you guys at the same time. I had a great night on the 3rd day (Of course, before someone complained and flipped my day upside down!), because I got served with good food and of course, yummy cakes! I don't get why you guys want to sabotage them with the cake - IT'S REALLY NICE. Did you guys even try it?! I sat down in the middle of the carpark with Clare, Ashley, Ma'am Marilyn and a plate filled with yummy delights/calories.
In the end, when we all boarded the bus and waved goodbye to our fellow camp mates and helpers, I knew I was going to miss this camp! Before that, everyone went around the reception areas - exchanging hugs and handshakes and telling each other, "I will miss you.". 4 days of bonding, friendship and fun seemed like 4 years of endless moments. My teammates, my leaders and my CE teachers - they will all be remembered by me as they've made this camp a memorable one.
I hope that your experience in this camp is also a mind-blowing and memorable one, come forward and share with the rest - be it the things that others don't know, or what you experienced in your groups. I bet there are a whole lot of things that the others don't know, so spread the word.
So, is this entry good enough? (:
