The Compass Test this coming Saturday is...
POSTPONED!
It will be rescheduled, and the test date will be announced once it's comfirm! This also means that everyone will be playing games this Saturday! Are you excited? 'Cause I am! (: Please make sure to report in Full-Uniform this Saturday, and polished. Don't forget your PT Kit and your bright and 'oh-so-jolly' smiles! (: We are welcoming the recruits this week!
I can't wait for this Saturday! I hope you guys are equally excited too!

Hi all, there are a few things you need to remember from the compass lesson we had. I've place them in the revision notes below. I've tried to make it as short and as easy to remember as possible.

1. Know Your Directions
- The sun is always in the East in the morning and in the West in the evening.
- You should be able to tell where is North, South, East and West by looking at the sun.
- You should NOT be able to do this in the afternoon when the sun is directly above head.
2. Know The Parts Of Your Compass
3. How to Hold Your CompassThere are 2 things to take note when you are holding your compass in front of your chest:
- Make sure it is far away from all metallic objects.
- Make sure it is parallel to the ground.
4. How to Use Your Compass
There are 2 things to turn when using the compass:
- Turn the housing so that the correct bearing is below the direction of travel-arrow.
- Turn the compass/yourself so that the needle is inline with orienting arrow.
5. Pacing
You take “X” steps to walk 100 meter. Now you need to walk “Y” meter.
The number of steps you need to take = X/100 * Y

That's all. It is very very easy. If you don't understand anything, please ask any of the officers.

Hello Boys! (: Here are some information of coming events, and they are both equally important!
1) CCA Promotion Day 2009It's the time of the year where the Secondary 1 students make their CCA choices, and we want to make sure that they make the right choice! It's now your turn to do your part to bring in more recruits for the company! Pull them, drag them and STOP THEM and explain to them what BB is all about, and also share some personal experience with them! Here are some details as followed:
Day/Date: Saturday, 10th January 2009
Reporting Time:
7.00am SHARP (No latecomers please, let's keep a good habit of being on time!)
Reporting Venue: Si Ling Secondary School
Reporting Attire: Full-Uniform (Polished, make sure it's shiny!), PT Kit (only for Joshua, Luke and Kane)
Duties:
1) Jianzhi & Ivan - Give out coupons when the Sec 1's students and parents are making their way out of the hall. Only distribute the coupons to the Sec 1's students and their parents!
2) Jianzhi - Station at the Ice-Cream booth after giving out coupons. Take down the number of Ice-Creams that are distributed and collect back the coupons.
3) Tekyuan - Supervise Archery booth together with Budi. Collect back the Archery coupons. Distribute flyers at the Archery booth.
4) Kane - Cycle around the parade square and distribute flyers.
5) Luke - Skate around the parade square and distribute flyers.
6) Joshua - Dressed up in harness and climbing equipments/ropes and walk around the parade square to distribute flyers.
7) Wei Hwa & Jing Long - Booth Boy (That's what I like to call it!). Make sure you are able to answer the parents/students questions about BB! Collect Response Slip and distribute a BB Notebook to them if they visit our booth!
Fancy Drill Squad (Jason, Kelvin, Nicholas Koo, Jun Xian, Glenn, Jing Long, Gordon, Wei Hwa and Hong Liang), the fancy steps are suppose to be in your head! (: You main duty that day will be to do well during fancy and bring us a good name and image! It will be the first impression the students and parents will have of us!
CCA Promotion Day Rehearsal : 6th January 2009, Tuesday (Check with your Drill I/C for more information!)Boy to represent BB to give a speech: -To be comfirmed-2) BB Day 2009The Boys' Brigade was found on this day many many years back! It's OUR day, and it's an opportunity to tell the whole school that we're proud to be in the BB! (: BB Day, will also be your promotion day! So make sure you're on time to receive your rank, or else you'll have to wait till 2010! Congratulations to all our new Lance Corporal's and Corporal's! (: Details are as followed:

6.50am SHARP (6.51am and you can kiss goodbye to your rank!)

Note: Please wear your uniform for the WHOLE day. Don't change during recess, we should be proud of our uniform, on OUR day, remember? (:
